What you will see with your telescope – Childrens telescope
Undoubtedly the breathtaking pictures of celestial objects we see on magazines motivate us to grab the telescope and start searching on the heavens to see for our selves what is out there. These colorful nebulas and beautiful star clusters and mysterious galaxies do exist in full color but they are just too dim for our vision. Even with a good telescope, Andromeda galaxy looks like a faint smudge through the telescope eyepiece. The illustration below gives you an idea of what you will see with an 8 inch telescope comparing to the photos from Hubble telescope and some dedicated amateur photographers. What I cannot describe with these illustrations is the faint but wonderful aerial texture of some nebulas and the star contrast as they seen through the eyepiece. Furthermore, the idea of discovering these hidden treasures is rewarding and educative.

Moon at low magnification. What you see on a photo is pretty much the same with the telescope eyepiece view.

Moon at high magnification. What you see on a photo is pretty much the same with the telescope eyepiece view.
